2000 miles of pedal-to-the-metal driving
100 vintage racing cars from Europe and The America's haul it from Chiapas to Nuevo Laredo. They race 2000 miles over 6 days. The crazed racing teams will reach speeds of up to 190 mph. No joke! The semi-crazed, like Lucha Libre Racing, will average about half that fast. The Fairlady's no Ferrari, but damn, she looks good at any speed. The madness begins October 22nd 2010. Check the 2008 route here. During the early years, 1950-54, La Carrera Panamericana was the most challenging and deadliest race in the world. Porsche, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz owe their reputations in America to it. In homage to their success in the Mexican Road Race, Porsche has always named its top performing model, "Carrera".
