2000 miles of pedal-to-the-metal driving
100+ vintage racing cars from Europe and The America's haul it from Huatulco to Zacatecas. They race 2000 miles over 6 days. The crazed racing teams used to reach speeds of up to 190 mph. No joke! Now they're regulated to 145MPH That should make for some very close racing. The madness begins October 21st 2011.
During the early years, 1950-54, La Carrera Panamericana was the most challenging and deadliest race in the world. Porsche, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz owe their reputations in America to it. In homage to their success in the Mexican Road Race, Porsche has always named its top performing model, "Carrera".
