Webstats updateAs of October 29, 2007 10469 visitors from 41 countries have checked out luchalibreracing.com "Cockfighting"
leads all other search strings by a 3 to 1 margin. "Howling Monkey" is
still a credible 2nd, well ahead of the rest, Nancy Pelosi included.
Last week at a fund raiser, I ran into the Monkey man himself, Minott Wessinger. Unfortunately for me, it
was not a Lucha Libre Racing fund raiser. As we were chatting, he told
me that the Lucha Libre Racing Team was the only thing Howling Monkey
ever sponsored. I didn't know if I should have felt sad for him, or
immensely lucky, that we got the only sponsorship the Monkey man ever
went for. Looks like Howling Monkey, the best energy drink ever, will
be eternally linked to our 2006 run of La Carrera Panamericana.
I've
been trying to follow all the hairy action of this years race, now on
day 3, and have found a couple of teams that have been doing an
outstanding job blogging their experiences.
In my last update I listed the Shelby Gt 350 Mustang being prepared by Gary Faules of California's Best Racing. His blog can be found at www.lacarrera2007.blogspot.com/ He is way out in front of all the others teams in terms of his blogging, LLR says check 'em out.

 What
really amazes me is the top "search strings" that bring people to the
site. Leading the list every month are: Howling Monkey, Cock Fighting
and Lucha Libre. Therefore, most people who visit the site are
ostensibly looking for something else. The other strings that bring
them in are: Nancy Pelosi, Sponsor Girls, Howling Monkey Energy
Drink (another plug for our sponsor) Datsun Fairlady, Bam Bam, Doug
Mockett Rally, Cock Fighting Mexico & Cock Ring...No wonder 4% of
our traffic comes from the US Government. They must be monitoring
Cock Fighting while looking at Sponsor Girls and drinking vast
quantities of Howling Monkey Energy drink. Did I mention that the Lucha
Libre Racing team is looking for a new sponsor for our next La Carrera
Panamericana in 2008?
Congratulations amigo!
 Congratulations
to my navigator Bam Bam Famoso and his wife Mrs. Famoso, she just gave
birth to their second son Tommy "Bam Bam Bambino" Famoso. At nearly
8lbs "Bambino" was just too big to throw back.
Those of you in
the San Francisco Bay Area should come out to see Bam Bam at the Mexico
Tourism, Travel and Real Estate Expo July 14th at the San Mateo County
Event Center. For more information check out his website at
mexicoexpo.org You may get to see La Carrera Panamericana guru Gerie
Bledsoe there too.
Back in action!

We
are delighted to announce the Lucha Libre Racing Roadster is back on
the road. After a 6-month hiatus the Roadster is back on the road with
a new (old) 1969 motor and transmission, fresh sidedraft SU's, header,
radiator, electric fan, alternator and regulator. She's lubed, tuned,
sound, sorted and ready to go.
Can you exlain that one more time?

After
much prodding and poetic waxings of La Carrera tales, Tim Arnett,
fellow Roadster and racing enthusiast, parted company with one of his
spare engine/tranny set ups. He also performed the transplant and
applied his engineers' eye to tidy up several loose ends. We had a
number of "failures-in-the-making" after thrashing the Roadster for
2000 miles through Mexico in 2006. Now she's strong and sorted and we
are booking race dates and searching for sponsors. Watch for us in the
California Melee September 2007.
If you look carefully in the
background of the above photo, you will see a note from Carroll Shelby
to Tim congratulating him for winning the Ferrari Club Hill Climb in
his 1965 Mustang Coupe. Tim, an engineer-cum-realtor and all
around fast guy in a race car, is as modest as they come. Look for him
and his white 2 litre Datsun Roadster as they blow the doors off of V-8
Mustangs and Corvettes at Laguna Seca HSR events. Currently, he can be
found restoring his 1969 Formula 5000 race car or sorting out a 7
year-old John Deere NASCAR ride. That's when he's not working on the
two 427's that are destined for a pair of Cobras, his pals bought, that
is, as soon as his pal Shelby can deliver them.
Tim's six cylinder monster.
